The Path of Joy

In this life, I choose joy.

I have been given the opportunity to restructure my world — to reconsider the way I see it, the information I choose to take in, how I receive that information, and how much power I allow it to have over me.

I have the freedom to make my own decisions about how I want to live, how I want to experience this world, and how I choose to see it.

And I choose the path of joy.

I choose not to weigh myself down with toxic thoughts, negativity, or information about things I cannot control or effectively change. Instead, I choose to focus my energy on what I can change: myself, my perspective, my actions, and the energy I bring into the world.

I choose to be a positive influence on those around me — not by telling others how to live, but by living my own life with joy, curiosity, kindness, and playfulness.

I believe that wonder, laughter, imagination, and the freedom to be playful are essential parts of being alive. They are not things we should outgrow. They are things we should carry with us, cherish, and nurture, no matter how old we become.

And if, along the way, the joy I choose for myself brings a little more joy into the lives of others, then I know I’m walking the right path.

In this life, I choose the path of joy.
